The ACT is a standardized test for college admissions in the U.S. It measures English, Math, Reading, and Science skills, with an optional Writing section. Each section is scored on a 1–36 scale, and the Writing section is scored separately.
The ACT lasts about 3 hours (plus 40 minutes if you take the Writing section). It consists of four multiple-choice sections: English (45 mins), Math (60 mins), Reading (35 mins), and Science (35 mins), plus an optional Writing section.
A strong ACT score strengthens college applications, demonstrates academic readiness, and improves chances for scholarships and honors programs. It also offers flexibility with multiple test dates and no penalty for guessing.
Many U.S. universities and scholarship providers use ACT scores to determine merit-based financial aid. A higher score can improve eligibility and increase your scholarship award amount.
It’s a flexible, self-paced online course featuring Kaplan’s structured video lessons, practice tools, and test simulations. It’s ideal for students targeting ACT scores of 25+ who prefer learning independently.
