Overview

What is ACCA?

The world’s most portable accounting qualification, built on IFRS.

ACCA is the world’s most portable accounting qualification. It is built on IFRS rather than a single country’s local GAAP, which is precisely why Big 4 firms, global capability centres and shared service centres across 180+ countries hire against it. For an Indian commerce student, it converts a domestic degree into an internationally recognised accounting career.

  • Awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK
  • Recognised in 180+ countries by top employers
  • Covers global accounting, audit, assurance, taxation, IFRS reporting and financial management
  • Up to 9 paper exemptions based on your degree — cutting both time and cost
  • Membership of a global community of finance leaders

Questions students ask

If yours is not here, a counsellor will answer it directly.

A globally recognised professional accounting qualification awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK, built on IFRS.

Students who have completed 10+2 with 65% in Accounts and English, or who are pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Graduates and CA students can enter with exemptions.

Up to 4 with a standard B.Com or BBA, up to 6 if you have cleared IPCC, and up to 9 on an accredited B.Com (International Accounting) or as a qualified CA. Strategic Professional papers can never be exempted.

Fourteen in total: 3 at Applied Knowledge, 6 at Applied Skills and 4 at Strategic Professional, of which 2 are Essentials and 2 are chosen from four options.

Typically 2.5 to 3 years alongside a degree, depending on how many exemptions you receive and how many papers you attempt per sitting.

ACCA runs four exam sittings a year, in March, June, September and December. Applied Knowledge papers are on-demand.

Yes, widely — by the Big 4, by global capability centres and by MNC finance functions. It is a global qualification rather than a statutory Indian audit licence, which is what distinguishes it from CA.

36 months of relevant supervised experience, which can be accumulated before, during or after your exams.

ACCA if you want breadth across accounting, audit, IFRS reporting and tax. CMA if you want depth in costing, budgeting, FP&A and internal decision support. They are complementary, and counselling will map the better fit.

IFRS reporting and consolidation training, Excel modelling for accountants, Power BI management reporting, and an internship at our Mauritius asset management company.

Send us your marksheet.
We’ll map your exemptions in 48 hours.
