Overview

What is the CFA?

The global benchmark in investment analysis, valuation and portfolio management.

The Chartered Financial Analyst® designation is the global benchmark in investment analysis, valuation and portfolio management. It is awarded by CFA Institute, USA, and it is what asset managers, equity research desks and investment banks look for when they hire. Where a commerce degree teaches you accounting and reporting, the CFA teaches you to price an asset, build a portfolio and defend a recommendation.

  • Global finance credential awarded by CFA Institute, USA
  • Recognised across 165+ countries
  • Covers investment analysis, valuation, portfolio management, ethics and professional standards
  • Built for roles in investment banking, equity research, asset management and corporate finance

The degree integration pathway

Your degree gets you the interview.
The CFA gets you the desk.

Students on any bachelor’s programme — B.Com, BAF, BMS, BFM, BBI or B.Sc. (Accounting & Finance) — can run the International Finance Pathway alongside their degree. You graduate with a degree, a global credential in progress or complete, a modelling portfolio and live internship experience, instead of starting all of that after graduation.

FAQs

Questions students ask

If yours is not here, a counsellor will answer it directly.

A globally recognised qualification in investment management, financial analysis and ethical professional standards, awarded by CFA Institute, USA.

Candidates in the final year of a bachelor’s degree, graduates, or those with an equivalent combination of higher education and professional work experience.

Yes. That is exactly what this pathway is built for. You can sit Level I in the final year of your bachelor’s programme.

Three. Level I covers investment tools, Level II asset valuation, Level III portfolio management and wealth planning.

Level I is demanding but structured. Global pass rates have historically sat around 40–50% across levels; the difference is almost entirely study discipline and guided revision.

Around 300 hours per level is the widely used benchmark, spread across six to nine months.

Level I is multiple choice, Level II uses item sets (vignettes), and Level III combines constructed-response and item sets.

In scheduled windows several times a year; frequency varies by level.

Financial modelling in Excel, Python for Finance, Power BI dashboarding, an NSDC-certified capstone, and an internship at our Mauritius FPI fund.

Equity research, investment banking, asset and portfolio management, corporate finance, credit and treasury, and consulting.
